One thing I learned about being a photography enthusiast is that you should always bring your camera with you everywhere, and be prepared to shoot photos, whenever you discover something that is appealing to the eyes.
This will let people know that you are serious about what you do, and people will remember you as a photographer. The primary reason for me is that you never know what you will see, and when you see it.
“I wish I had my camera with me!”
Somehow, the pictures that you take might be useful for a website or a magazine, but it may well be in demand at a news agency or even be a top seller for a stock photography agency!
Always remember to acquire the habit of charging your batteries after every day’s photoshoot, transferring the images, formatting the memory cards and cleaning the camera and lenses. You’ll never know when the next good shoot will be.
Having everything ready pays. I mean that you always have to have your camera bag prepared, ready to be picked up, whenever the occasion calls for it.
Seasoned professional photographers started photography as a hobby, until later when they found out that most of their photo shots, where selling like hotcakes.
If you are too shy to take photos by yourself, consider joining a photo walk with other photography enthusiasts. Photowalks are now becoming common in UP Diliman, Ayala Triangle and The Fort, Bonifacio Global Center, Intramuros, Fort Santiago, Binondo, Baywalk and near the areas of Mall of Asia and Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex. Joining photography clubs is also a good alternative as this may give you the opportunity to learn more about your camera, and improve your skills.
