Polaroid’s back at it again. During the Consumer Electronics Show® (CES) 2017, Polaroid announced their newest camera which prints out the iconic 3×4″ print, the Polaroid Pop.

Polaroid

Polaroid is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year, and releasing the Pop surely is a great way to do it. “Perfectly blending nostalgia with modern design and functionality, the Polaroid Pop embodies the brand’s 80-year history; staying true to the Polaroid core values of sharing, instant, fun and ease-of-use, while pushing the envelope with a fresh form factor and the latest technology”, says Polaroid President and CEO, Scott W. Hardy.

The Pop has a sleek and modern design, perfect for the millennial generation, but still has that nostalgic element brought about by instant print cameras. As most people know it, Polaroids have the classic white border logo around the photo, which is exactly what the camera would print out. However, Pop would be using the ink-free ZINK® Zero Ink Printing Technology, which prints out a smudge-proof and high-quality photo without using ink cartridges, ribbons, or toner. The 20-megapixel camera also includes a 3.97-inch touchscreen LCD for accessibility of menu and ease in framing shots. The Pop also has a 1080p full HD video recording capability and a micro SD card slot. So, it’s not just an instant camera, but an instant digital camera.

The Pop is Wifi-and Bluetooth-enabled, which means, you could also use it as a printer for your past Instagram photos or a throwback photo from your camera roll. You could use the Polaroid Print app (for iOS and Android) to edit your photos first. Also, in the selfie generation, you’d be thankful that the Pop has a self-timer.

Polaroid

Polaroid is a known brand of instant cameras and film for 80 years already. Today, their products include instant print cameras, action sports cameras, smartphones, flat-screen TVs and emerging technologies that deliver the fun, instant gratification and value for which the brand has long stood. And for all we know, the classic white border logo is their recognizable signature.

As of today, the price isn’t released yet, but it would probably be available Q4 of 2017. Check out their website to learn more.
