VSCO Opens a Free Photo Studio in New York City
Mitzi Ilagan | Fotograpiya
Listen up, VSCO community! The company now runs a photography studio in New York City where you could do your photo shoots for your next series of Instagram posts for free! VSCO has decided to put up a studio which would serve as a blank canvas and work space for photographers and hobbyists, with permanent cyclorama and gear which they could borrow, too. The studio itself looks Instagram-worthy with its white, minimalist interiors. The company encourages their members to pursue their passion projects as they utilize their space.
The space could be rented for up to two hours, with a maximum of 6 people per group. A $250 deposit is required to secure a time slot, but it would be returned afterwards, unless the reservation is cancelled. The space is also a Bring-Your-Own (BYO) area, so photographers must bring with them all their needed gadgets and cameras needed for their shoot.
Unfortunately, reservations could not be done up to this date due to the high number of requests. There are sure lots of people who would want their Instagram photos VSCO-fied in this free studio.
Here are other FAQs for the VSCO Open Studio:
Where is it?
At our VSCO NYC office in Nomad.
Will VSCO Open Studio be available in other locations?
As of right now, it’s only available in our New York office. We may open up our other locations for Open Studio down the line — let us know what you think by writing in to firstname.lastname@example.org.
What if I need more than two hours?
If, at the end of your session, you realize you need more time, you are welcome to submit a new request for a new session on a different day. The studio is inside our VSCO NYC office, so unfortunately each session is limited to two hours maximum.
How many people can I bring?
Six people max. If you’d like to bring more than six people, please let us know more about the scope of your project.
Why is VSCO Open Studio for non-commercial projects only?
It’s important to us that your personal passion projects are given the opportunity to live. The ideas that excite you shouldn’t be a forgotten scribble in a notebook, shelved indefinitely until you can afford an exorbitant studio fee. We’ve been providing you with a digital space to create and share honestly, and now we want to do the same in a physical space.
When will I hear back?
We’ll be responding directly to requests that are approved for booking. Due to the volume of submissions, we will not be able to reply individually to everyone.
